Our last game is on Thursday, October 31. We are going to start a little earlier than initially planned to allow time for more rehearsal and senior traditions. Please note that the game is now starting at 4PM. Uniform volunteers should plan to arrive at 2:45PM and equipment volunteers should arrive at 3:15PM. The Marching Showcase is at Oakland Mills High School on Monday, October 21, 2024. Centennial Marching Eagles performs at 8pm.

Saturday, October 19, 2024 10am to 5pm (CHS Cafeteria) If you or someone you know is looking to replace a bed, now is the time! The Mattress Fundraiser hosted in our very own high school cafeteria will have 25+ different styles of beds on display for customers to try. We have partnered with Custom Fundraising Solutions who works with Mattress Warehouse to transform our cafeteria into a mattress showroom! The beds are new, brand name—including the popular Purple mattress--made to order, available in all sizes, and cost up to 50% less than suggested retail.

We are in need of parent volunteers for Saturday. Volunteers will be present to greet potential customers and thank them for their support of the Music Program at CHS. No sales involved. You will also serve as a liaison to the sales team for any questions they may have throughout the day. There may also be some downtime, so feel free to bring a book, work, etc. You can also bring a friend/partner/high schooler if you'd like some company during your shift. ![]() Congratulations, your Marching Eagle Senior will be recognized during this Thursday's Varsity Football game and we're excited to pass along information to ensure you are ready to participate! Parents/guardians of seniors will meet near the concession stand 5 minutes before the end of 2nd quarter. At that time, you will receive a line number that corresponds to the order your Student's name will be called during the ceremony. We'll watch the Halftime show from center field level together. Senior students will be recognized immediately following the halftime show. When your student's name is called, you'll join them and their director for a quick handshake and Rose presentation. After the halftime presentation, parents and students will line up one last time on the scoreboard end of the field for a posed individual Photo with family, student and directors. Location: CHS Auditorium Attendance: This is a required performance event for all band students, as outlined in our course syllabus. Participation and attendance is a graded component of the course. Concert Expectations We kindly ask that all students remain for the entire duration of the concert to support their fellow musicians and take the opportunity to learn from each other’s performances. While the football team won’t be playing, we’re still going to have a fantastic evening dedicated to Future Marching Eagles! Future Eagles Night Schedule - Friday, October 4, 2024 5:30 PM: Check-in at the side entrance pf the school. A parent/guardian must remain on-site for the evening. 5:45 PM: Future Eagles will head to the stadium with the Marching Eagles, while parents/guardians will have a brief meeting with current band parents and then head down to the stadium to watch the workshop. 5:50-6:30 PM: Future Eagles Night Workshop (games, marching, playing, and more!). 6:30 PM: The Marching Eagles will perform their 2024 show, "How to Train Your Dragon," just for you! 6:45 PM: Dismissal Important Reminders
-------- Join the CHS Marching Eagles at our Home Football Game! Future CHS Eagles are invited to join the CHS Marching Eagles in the stands at our home football game on Friday, October 4! You’ll have the chance to sit with the band, play along with a few tunes, and enjoy a great view of the halftime show—right from the best seats in the stadium! Who: Band students in grades 5-8 who are future Centennial Eagles! Bring your instrument to play along in the stands, or just come sit with us and have fun! If you play percussion, you’ll share instruments with our drum line. For instruments not typically in marching band (like oboe or bassoon), reach out to Mr. Matchim at [email protected] to explore options for participation. Date: Friday, October 4 Time:5:30 PM - approximately 7:30 PM (dismissal will follow the halftime show) Location: Centennial High School 4300 Centennial Lane, Ellicott City Future Eagles will meet the Marching Eagles in the parking lot next to CHS at 5:30 PM sharp. If you arrive late, you may not be admitted to the game, and will need to pay for entry. Registration: All Future Eagles must register by Tuesday, October 1 at 11:59 PM. Registration Form: Future Marching Eagles Night - Friday, October 4 (google.com) Only Future Eagles need to register—parents, guardians, and family members do not need to sign up. Final details will be emailed to registered participants on Wednesday, October 2. Parking: Please park in the lot between BMMS and CHS. Do not use the front bus loop. Supervision: A parent or guardian is required to attend the football game and stay for the duration of the event. They will sit in our new Band Parent Section, while Future Eagles will sit with the CHS Marching Eagles. This is all about having fun, so no pressure to sound perfect! Cost: Participation is free for Future Eagles! Other attendees, including parents and family members, must purchase tickets to the game.
